Designers Notes
The design was inspired by the racing suits used in motorsport. The fabric used in this piece was inspired by the interior of my rally car’s – this diamond quilted fabric is filled with a fine layer of padding. The oversized shoulder lines that are disconnected from the sleeves really play on the racing suit DNA. It has a mesh inner layer holding this piece all together but creates this floating sleeve effect – this works very well paired with a lighter coloured item worn under the driver’s jacket. Worn together with the driver’s trousers it creates the perfect high fashion streetwear racing suit look.
